International Coastal Cleanup Day, the world’s largest volunteer effort for our ocean and waterways, takes place on Maui on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. at Kahului Harbor. The event is hosted by Pacific Whale Foundation.

On this day, people from all over the world remove trash from the shores and document what they find. The data is compiled and published in an annual global report on marine debris by the Ocean Conservancy.
