Chef Peter Merriman, three-time James Beard nominee and pioneer of the Hawaii Regional Cuisine Movement, has collaborated with Sweetfin Poke on an exclusive, limited-time poke bowl.

The Merriman’s Bowl will be sold at all nine Sweetfin locations around Southern California from September 1 to October 31, 2018.

A partnership aligned in philosophy, Merriman’s and Sweetfin both pride themselves in using only the best quality and most sustainable ingredients.  Sweetfin’s motto is from “Pole to Bowl,” and after falling in love with poke on a visit to Hawai‘i, owners say they wanted to combine that passion with the inventiveness of California cuisine and a reasonable price point.

The Merriman’s Bowl is a considered twist on the traditional Hawaiian poke bowl, with Ahi poke set on a bed of udon noodles, sprinkled with shredded daikon radish and carrots, and topped with green onions and sesame seeds.

This marks Merriman’s first presence on the mainland, and the partnership is launching after the recent opening of Merriman’s Honolulu, its first O‘ahu location; and as Merriman’s Waimea celebrates its 30th anniversary.
