In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular is $3.57, which is eight cents lower than last Thursday, 22 cents lower than on this date a month ago and 48 cents higher than on this date last year.

Today’s statewide average price is $3.72 a gallon, which is seven cents lower than last Thursday, 18 cents lower than a month ago and 48 cents more than a year ago, according to GasPrices.AAA.com. [1]

“The Energy Information Administration’s weekly petroleum status report showed the western United States gasoline stocks increased by 300,000 barrels to 26.9 million barrels,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawai‘i general manager. “Stocks are approximately 1.3 million barrels lower than at this same time last year, which could cause prices to increase if there’s a supply challenge in our region. However, we are entering a lower demand period of the year along with lower oil prices, which may offset the potential for increases.”
