Record High Temperature Tied at Kahului on Sunday

A record high temperature of 88 degrees was documented in Kahului on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 tying an old record set for the same day in 2012 according to data compiled by the National Weather Service.

NWS forecasters say today calls for sunny conditions with high temperatures near 84 °F and lows tonight near 60 °F.

The agency is forecasting fair weather through Thursday with a southeasterly wind flow carrying showers tot he windward areas at times. “A front is expected to bring an increase in showers Friday into Saturday, with cooler condition spreading across the islands over the weekend,” according to the agency’s Hawaiʻi Area Synopsis.
