Lyft announced today that it is expanding its service to Maui airports beginning Feb. 1, 2019 with designated pick up locations at Kahului and Kapalua airports.

In partnership with the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation, Lyft representatives say the company will be able to better serve riders across the state who use Lyft to reach the people and places that matter to them most.

“We’re thrilled to be expanding Lyft’s operations to our neighbor island airports,” said Rob Mora, Lyft’s Hawaiʻi Market Manager. “With the addition of these designated pick-up locations for rideshare vehicles, riders travelling throughout the state of Hawaiʻi can count on a convenient and affordable Lyft ride to and from the airport. We’re thankful to the HDOT team for their collaboration and we look forward to providing a great rider and driver experience at all the included airports.”

These Hawaiʻi airports join the more than 350 airports across the US and Canada offering Lyft rideshare service. Lyft has been providing this service at Honolulu International Airport since December 1, 2017 and is pleased to see how well received these services have been by both locals and visitors alike.

“The Transportation Network Companies have been well received by the public at HNL and we are pleased to offer the option to neighbor island travelers,” said Deputy Director Ross Higashi, Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation Airports Division.

Lyft provides a seamless, affordable, and reliable method of transportation – and continues to work to improve the travel experience for visitors and locals.

“Being able to pickup and drop-off at HNL has improved the experience of our visitors by decreasing the time they have to wait to get a ride into town,” said Bliss Tanaka, Honolulu Lyft Driver. “As a fourth generation native Hawaiian, I love picking up people at the airport because it has given me the opportunity to share my heritage and culture with visitors coming into and out of the airport.”
