Press conference announcing a proclamation for a special election. PC: Office of Governor David Ige.

A special election will be held for the District IV seat on the Honolulu City Council, representing Hawai‘i Kai to Waikīkī and Ala Moana Beach Park.

The proclamation comes after the State Supreme Court invalidated the results of November’s special election between Trevor Ozawa and Tommy Waters.

The date of the special election will fall within a 120 day period and will be announced by City Clerk Glen Takahashi.
