Hosmer Grove Campground at Haleakalā National Park closed last night due to rising flood waters on the road leading to the campground.

National park rangers evaluated the area and determined no one was in the campground at the time of closure.

Ari Wong, Chief Ranger, said flood waters were expected to recede quickly.

Hosmer Grove Campground lies in the cloud belt just below the 7,000 foot elevation in the Summit District of Haleakalā National Park.
