A Wind Advisory is in effect for Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe and Maui’s Central Valley until 6 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory saying areas included can expect NE winds of 20 to 30 mph with localized gusts up to 50 mph.

“Winds this strong can bring down small tree branches, cause localized power outages and can make driving difficult where crosswinds are encountered. Motorists, especially those in high profile vehicles, are urged to drive with extreme caution,” the advisory states.

Pre-recorded advisories and notifications are available 24-hours a day on the Maui County Automated Information System by calling 986-1200.
