Man Accused in Kaiser Threat Resigns From Liquor Commission

A man accused of terroristic threatening at the Kaiser Permanente Maui Lani facility earlier this month, has resigned from his position as a Liquor Control commissioner.

“Jonathan Todd submitted his letter of resignation from the Liquor Control Commission on Wednesday, April 10. We thank him for his service to the County of Maui and wish him well in his future endeavors. We are, currently, in the process of filling his seat on the commission,” said Chris Sugidono, Assistant Communications Director with the County of Maui, Office of the Mayor.

The 58-year-old Pāʻia resident was arrested and charged with terroristic threatening following the reported threat on April 4, 2019.

Maui police say an employee reported receiving a call from a male identifying himself as Jonathan Todd. According to police reports, the caller reportedly threatened to commit a shooting at the clinic.

Kaiser decided to shut down operations as a result for the remainder of the day. Police responded but did not locate any immediate threat.
