Search of Ha‘ikū Home Nets Arrest, 1.2 Pounds of Meth Found

On Monday, May 13, 2019, officers from the Vice Division Narcotics Unit executed search warrants on 33-year-old Bronsen Rodrigues at his residence in Haʻikū.

Police say that as a result of the search, police found: 582.70 grams (1.28 pounds) of crystal methamphetamine, $16,962 in US currency, 1.22 grams of marijuana, a 12 gauge shotgun, 25 rounds of 12 gauge ammunition, over 400 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, over 150 rounds of .45 caliber ammunition, and 20 rounds of .303 caliber ammunition.

Also discovered was drug paraphernalia associated with the use and distribution of crystal methamphetamine, according to police reports.

Bronsen Rodrigues was arrested and charged for the offenses of: first and second degree promotion of a dangerous drug, third degree promotion of a detrimental drug, use of a firearm in a felony drug offense, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia.

His bail was set by the court at $150,000, cash only.

Also located at the residence was an adult female identified as 56-year-old Leyette Rodrigues.

Leyette Rodrigues was arrested for the offense of first and second degree promotion of a dangerous drug, and third degree promotion of a detrimental drug. She was released pending further investigation.
