Pig farmers joined police this morning in capturing a wild boar found roaming a Kāʻanapali Hillside neighborhood.  Resident, Don Mccuaig said he first noticed the pig on Puʻu Hale Street last night.

According to Mccuaig, the boar was still around in the morning, and police were called in to assist.

Police in turn sought the assistance of two boar farmers.

“[It] took four people to get him down,” Mccuaig told Maui Now, noting that he’s seen boars in the hills above his home, but never before in his neighborhood.

“They said they have female [pigs] but no males so they are going to keep this guy to breed. It should have a good life from now on,” said Mccuaig.
