Third Day of Record-Breaking Temps in Kahului

For the third day in a row, a record high temperature was set at Kahului Airport on respective days.

The National Weather Service reports that the temperature in Kahului on Monday, May 20, 2019, reached 93 degrees, breaking the old record of 91 degrees set for that day in 1978.

On Sunday, May 19, a record-breaking high temperature of 92 degrees was set in Kahului, breaking the old record of 89 degrees set for that day in 2008.

And on Saturday, May 18, a record high temperature of 91 degrees was set in Kahului, breaking the old record of 90 degrees set for that day in 2007.

Today’s Kahului forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 92 degrees, then isolated showers after noon. NNE winds of 6 to 8 mph will become ESE in the afternoon, according to the NWS.

Forecasters from the NWS are forecasting a return of trade wind weather over the Memorial Day weekend, lasting through the first half of next week.
