A GoFundMe account has been set up for the family of those involved in a deadly crash in Hāliʻimaile over the weekend, that claimed the life of 39-year-old Teresa Pham of Spring Texas.

As of this morning, the GoFundMe account for the Pham and Schranz families had raised $12,426 toward a $200,000 goal.

Police say they were on their way to the airport when the collision occurred.

Organizers of the fund are asking for money to bring Pham back home to Texas for a proper burial, as well as pay for medical expenses of the Schranz family.

Pham was a passenger in a Nissan sedan that was traveling northwest on Hāliʻimaile Road, when it was struck head-on by a silver Honda Accord that was traveling in the opposite direction.

The crash occurred on Hāliʻimaile Road, about 0.1 mile southwest of Hoʻomālie Place at approximately 9:22 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2019.

A total of five people were transported to the hospital following the crash, including the 23-year-old Pāʻia woman who was operating the Honda Accord.

Four other individuals in the Nissan were transported to the hospital. This included the 48-year-old male driver, along with a 50-year-old female passenger, a 50-year-old male passenger and a 14-year-old juvenile passenger.

According to a preliminary investigation, the Honda was traveling northeast on Hāliʻimaile Road when it crossed left of center and first collided with the drivers side of a silver Land Rover Discovery sports utility vehicle, which was traveling in the opposite direction.  Police say that after it “sideswiped” the Land Rover, the Honda continued on a path, still traveling left of center, and collided head-on into the grey Nissan four door sedan.

The involvement of speed, drugs and alcohol have yet to be determined, as the accident investigation is ongoing.
