Relief Proclamations Extended for Kaua‘i Flood and Homelessness

Governor David Ige extended emergency relief proclamations for: disaster relief on Kauaʻi following last years floods; and homelessness relief across the state.

A ninth supplementary emergency proclamation was issued for relief from the 2018 Kauaʻi floods. The proclamation extends authority to spend state funds as appropriated to protect the health, safety and welfare of residents and visitors; and supports efforts to provide quick and efficient relief of suffering, damage and losses caused by the flooding.

The governor also extended the disaster emergency relief period for homelessness across the state, by issuing a fourth supplementary proclamation. This helps to accelerate the completion of housing projects for those transitioning out of homelessness, and expands shelter capacity and access to services.

Both proclamations extend relief periods until Oct. 5, 2019.
