The Central East Maui All-Stars defeated Sunnyside, Arizona, 4-1 on Saturday to secure the Little League West Regional title.  The regional game was played in San Bernardino, California.

The Maui team now advances to the Little League World Series, which runs from Aug. 15 to 25 in Williamsport, PA. The games are being carried on ESPN.

Maui Mayor Michael Victorino and his son Shane (a former Gold Glove and World Champion Major League Baseball player) surprised the Maui boys by cheering the team on live from the stands. They were among the friends and family who traveled to the stadium to provide support in person.
