Maui Little League World Series Match Postponed Due to Rain

A Little League World Series match between Mauiʻs Central East Maui team and the Elmora Youth Little League of Elizabeth, N.J. that was underway earlier this morning has been rescheduled for Monday at 7 a.m. HST (1 p.m. EST).

The game was called off because of lightning and rain at the end of the 4th inning, with Central East Maui holding a 6-0 lead.

The winner of the match will face the Southeast champion on Wednesday.

Maui’s Central East Maui team is moving up in the 2019 Little League World Series after their 5-2 defeat over River Ridge, Louisiana on Friday.

The team from Wailuku Maui advanced to the Little League World Series after winning the West Regional Title last weekend in San Bernardino, California.

Central East Maui will face off against the Elmora Youth Little League of Elizabeth, N.J. at 8 a.m. HST (2 p.m. EST) on Sunday. The match will be televised and carried online on ESPN3.

The 2019 Little League World Series will continue through Aug. 25 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
