Mayor Michael Victorino answers some of the most-asked questions submitted to his office staff.

Q: When are the coconut trees going to be trimmed at Kalama and Kamaʻole I beach parks?

A: Mahalo for your question. My staff checked in with the Department of Parks and Recreation and were told that Imua Landscaping currently holds the palm tree pruning contract for the south, central and east districts. They have been pruning over 300 coconut trees at Kalama Beach Park, and I was last told that their work would be completed sometime in the past week.

Imua Landscaping is in the process of pruning approximately 1,500 coconut trees total across all of our county parks, so they are advancing in accordance to highest priority. I was told that Kamaʻole I will be pruned in the near future.
