Maui Lane Closures For The Week of Aug. 31- Sept. 6

Some roadways throughout Maui will be closed for construction and improvements.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice, according to the Department of Transportation. All projects are weather permitting. 

Below is a list of closures: 

Hana Highway (Routes 36/360):

• Haʻikū (night work): Hana Highway (Route 360) in the vicinity of Mokulehua Stream Bridge at Mile Marker 28.2 will be closed in both directions from Tuesday night, Sept. 3, through Wednesday morning, Sept. 4, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for soil boring work. 
• Haʻikū (night work): Hana Highway (Route 36) between Kaupakalua Road and Holomua Road will be closed in both directions from Tuesday night, Sept. 3, through Friday morning, Sept. 6, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for road reconstruction work. Alternating traffic control will be in place. 
• Haʻikū: Alternating lane closure on Hana Highway (Route 30) in the northbound direction in the vicinity of Papaaea Road from Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Friday, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for utility installations. 
• Haʻikū: Alternating lane closure on Hana Highway (Route 360) in both directions between Waianapanapa Road and Waikoloa Road at Hana High and Elementary School on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for sign installations. Alternating traffic control will be in place.
• Keʻanae: Hana Highway (Route 360) will be closed in both directions at mile marker 15.8 from Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Friday, Sept. 6, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for steel reinforcement installations. Traffic will be contraflowed. 
• Wailua (24-HOUR WORK): Hana Highway (Route 36) in the northbound direction in the vicinity of Wailua Valley State Park will be closed in the northbound direction from Saturday, Aug. 31, through Friday, Sept. 6, over a 24-hour period, for utility installation work. 

Honoapiilani Highway (ROUTE 30):

• Lahaina: Honoapiilani Highway (Route 30) between Lahainaluna Road and Aholo Road will be closed in both directions on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscape maintenance. Traffic will be contraflowed.  
• Maʻalaea (night work): There will be lane shifts on Honoapiilani Highway (Route 30) in both directions between Papalaua Beach Park and Windmill Farm from Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Friday, Sept. 6, for roadway striping.
• Lanes will be shifted from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Lanes will be shifted from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Maʻalaea: There will be lane shifts on Honoapiilani Highway in the southbound direction between Olo place and the King Kamehameha Golf Course Clubhouse from Wednesday, Sept. 4, through Friday, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming.

Kahekili Highway (Route 340):

• Waiheʻe-Waiʻehu: Alternating lane closure on Kahekili Highway (Route 340) in both directions between Waihee Valley Road and Wilipohaku Street at Waihee Elementary School on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for sign installations. Traffic will be contraflowed.

Kuihelani Highway (Route 380): 

• Kahului (night work): Alternating lane closure on Kuihelani Highway (Route 380) in both directions in the vicinity of Puunene Avenue from Tuesday night, Sept. 3, through Friday morning, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for road improvements.  

Puunene Avenue:

• Kahului (night work): Alternating lane closure on Puunene Avenue in both directions between Hookele Street and Puukani Street from Tuesday night, Sept. 3, through Friday morning, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for road improvements.
