Wailuku Brush Fire Burns 4 Acres

Maui fire personnel have fully contained the blaze, which officials say burned through about 4 acres of brush.

According to a press release from the Maui Fire Department, the incident was reported at about 4:53 p.m. today near Waiinu Road.

Fire crews are currently mopping up the area and the Maui Police Department is asking motorists to avoid the area.

Merely hours after a brush fire broke out in West Maui mountains earlier today, another blazed has sparked in Wailuku.

The blaze was located near Waiinu Road and Mahalani Street.

Maui fire and police personnel were at the scene at about 5 p.m. this evening.
