Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea hosts the 30th Annual Day of Hope Run on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019.  The day’s events begin at 6:30 a.m., with a 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk along scenic Wailea Alanui Drive, and finish on the Resort’s stunning Oceanfront Lawn.

All proceeds from the community event benefit Pacific Cancer Foundation, Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women & Children and American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge. The non-profit PCF provides FREE support services to Maui’s cancer community by providing access, knowledge and support to all those affected by cancer in Maui County.

The Run & Walk is followed by a continental breakfast on the Ocean Front Lawn, where Master of Ceremonies, Howard “Dash” Dashefsky, Emmy Award-winning news anchor, will preside over the morning’s events, including a presentation of prizes to the top-placing runners.

Stylists from the Resort’s newly renovated salon will be cutting off ponytails to be made into real-hair “Wigs for Kids” for children going through cancer treatment.  Children ages 3 to 12 years old will enjoy the Keiki Dash on Wailea Beach. The day concludes with a traditional Hawaiian canoe ceremony to commemorate loved ones lost to cancer.

“The Day of Hope marks the Resort’s 30th year in the fight against cancer. We are grateful to host this annual event that is led by dedicated employee volunteers and is rooted in the Resort’s spirit of aloha and sense of community,” said General Manager Marc Bromley. “We are most proud that the funds raised benefit those affected by this devastating disease right here in the Hawaiian Islands.”

The Day of Hope is the culmination of year-round fundraising efforts of the Resort’s employee volunteers.  Last year, the Resort donated a record-setting $102,000.  This year, the Resort has set a goal of $125,000.

As part of its efforts, the Resort will also be auctioning luxury accommodation packages at the following Four Seasons properties: Bora Bora, Jackson Hole, Lānaʻi, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Oʻahu, Orlando, Vail, and Washington D.C. These auction items and more are available starting on Oct. 15 at biddingforgood.com/doh2019.
