Study Says Hawaii Residents Have the 8th Highest Per Capita Debt in the U.S.

According to a study conducted by the online lending company LendingTree, Hawaii residents rank 8th in the country when it comes to Americans who have the most debt.
The study consisted of an analysis of company data as well as data from the Federal Reserve and TransUnion. According to the study
– Residents in Hawaii have the 8th highest debt per capita in the country at $40,700
-
– 90% of Hawaii residents have credit card debt with an average balance of $4,489
-
– The average mortgage debt balance in Hawaii is $162,534
Colorado residents have the highest per capita debt at $50,010. West Virginia residents have the lowest per capita debt at $17,500.
