Kahana Ridge Fire Extinguished

The Kahana Ridge Fire in West Maui was declared extinguished as of 12:44 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019, according to the Maui Fire Department.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The nearly 1,000 acre fire initially impacted traffic and Kapalua Airport operations and resulted in area evacuations. Residents have since returned home and the airport was reopened on Wednesday morning.
