Hawaiian-inspired footwear brand OluKai now has a shop at Whalers Village in Kāʻanapali.

Mayor Michael Victorino and the Central East Maui Little League Team helped welcome the flagship store during a grand opening celebration last Friday.

The Maui store is one of two of the companyʻs first ever locations. Another recently opened its doors at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Oʻahu.

“Hawaiʻi, its culture and people inspire us, so Maui and Oʻahu are deliberate locations for OluKai’s first retail experiences,” OluKai vice president of marketing Kerry Konrady said in a press release.

“Our intention is to have consumers learn while they shop, even joining staff in our community giveback days or canoe sailing with our ambassadors.”

According to OluKai representatives, proceeds from every purchase at the two store locations will benefit local non-profit organizations through the companyʻs Ama OluKai Foundation.

The foundation works with organizations throughout the islands that aim to preserve the Hawaiian culture.

“Our involvement in cultural projects, from the mountains to the oceans, continues to grow year after year,” OluKai caretaker Archie Kalepa added in the release.

“Our stores provide the perfect place to engage with community and invite them to learn more and join our efforts.”
