Druscilla Feiteira

November 3, 1956 – November 1, 2019

Druscilla “Susie” Feiteira, 62 of Kahului, Maui passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 under the nurturing care of Hospice Maui. She was born on Nov. 3, 1956 in Wailuku, Maui to the late Alvarino and Caroline Feiteira.

Susie will be remembered in the hearts of her daughter, Erica (Lambert) Kong; son, Shannon (Fantasia) Feiteira; grandchildren, Keoki Kong, Meilani Kong, Malia Kong, Mishalei Feiteira, Sasha Feiteira, Jacob Feiteira; brothers, Glenn Feiteira, Patrick Feiteira, Matthew Feiteira; sister, Gwendolyn Lopes.

Services will be held at Christ the King Church on Friday, November 22, 2019. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Mass to begin at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Maui Memorial Park at 2 p.m.

December 6, 1936 – November 7, 2019

George “Pocho” Fernandez, Jr., 82, of Makawao, Maui, passed away on Nov. 7, 2019, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was surrounded by loved ones. Pocho was born on December 6, 1936, in Makawao. After graduating from Maui High School, he enlisted in the Navy. He later married Carol Fernandez, his wife of 52 years. Pocho worked for the County of Maui as a Refuse Crew Leader.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. Pocho enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, nature, music, history, and sports. He was a bowler, softball player for the Makawao Guavas, badminton champ, hunter, and collector. Pocho was an extraordinary man whose smile, jokes, laughter, warmth, love, and kindness will always be remembered and missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Fernandez; children, Michelle Vogele, George Fernandez lll (Celeste), Shantel Fernandez Lopez (Lorenzo); 6 grandchildren, Kaimaile, Wainani, Kawaiola, Jordan, Brooklyn, Aria; 4 great-grandchildren, Pikake, Aikela, Napueo and Kawelu. He joins in heaven his mother, Anna Fernandez; and his siblings, Diana Kualaau, Carol Akima, Linda Walker and Gordon ”Popoki” Fernandez.

Visitation will be begin at 8:30 for family, 9:00 am for public, with mass to follow at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, at St. Joseph Church in Makawao. Burial will follow at St. Joseph cemetery.

Elizabeth Anne Gordon, 52, of Kula, Maui, passed away on Nov. 8, 2019. She was born on May 18, 1967, in Redwood City, California.

A semi-private visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at Waiohuli Community Center in Kula; services will start at 4:30 p.m.. RSVP to [email protected]

Elizabeth was an archaeologist with the National Park Service and worked closely with the local community on Maui. She is survived by her husband, James; mother, Dorothy; father, Robert; son Aidan; and daughter, Clare.

Milagros Yago

August 14, 1968 – November 9, 2019

Milagros Y. Yago, 51, of Kahului, Maui, passed away on Nov. 9, 2019, surrounded by family & friends, under the care of Hospice Maui. She was born on Aug. 14, 1968 in the Philippines.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at Ballard Family Mortuary; service starts at 7:30 p.m.; cremation will follow. Her urn will be placed in the niche on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019, 10:30 a.m., at Maui Memorial Park Cemetery in Wailuku.

Milagros was a CNA at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She is survived by her mother, Marcela Yago; siblings, Francisco Yago (Margarita), Zenaida Yago, Herdelita Ranillo (Fabie), Cecilia Ocampo (Nestor), Nestor Yago (Mary Ann); and 11 nieces & nephews, Don, Krystel, Krizia, Aubrey, JC, Daryll, Bryan, Iggylyn, Lanz, Nyza and Joyce.

Paddy Carvalho

January 27, 1931 – November 10, 2019

Paddy Waine‘e Carvalho, 88 of Wailuku, Maui, had peacefully passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wailuku, Maui on Jan. 27, 1931 to the late Domingo Carvalho & Josephine K. La‘i. Paddy honorably served our country in the US Army then discharged on Oct. 8 of 1959 with a rank of Private First Class.

Although he is no longer here, he will continue to live in the hearts of his wife, Marie Carvalho; sons, Lawrence (Larry) – deceased, Domingo (Dingo) – deceased, Leslie (Bozo), Lester, Carlos – deceased, Marshall – deceased; daughters, Aileen and Annette – deceased, Alisa Takahashi, Mary (Magda) Cramer, Lena Ann Sakamoto – deceased, Paddy Lee (Maile) Carvalho, Opu‘ulani Taiseni; sisters, Smiley (Birdie) Kaiwi – deceased, Helani (Dolly) Damon – deceased, Lovey Chun, Shirley (Echo) Kahula, Connie (Chung) Koko, Jerry Kaiwi; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Services will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 at Norman’s Mortuary from 9 a.m. with prayer service to begin at 11 a.m. Burial is to follow at Maui Veterans Cemetery in Makawao at 1 p.m.

The Carvalho Ohana wishes to express a heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice Maui, Islands Hospice, and Kaiser Permanente for their compassionate care of Paddy “Maka” during his time here.

Edmund Keahi, 67, of Wailuku passed away on Nov. 11, 2019 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on July 13, 1952 in Honolulu.

Edmund is survived by his hanai sons, Rodney (Thao) Keahi, Neil (Shalia) Keahi, Craig Delapinia, Shannon Keahi, Keith Keahi, Kyle Keahi, Truman Akima, Kapili Akima; hanai daughters, Keala (Hoku)Vasconcellos, Sherry (Leonard) Kupau, Jessica (Vernon) Kinchoy, Kimberly Keahi, Sherrine Garcia, Ashley Akima, Shantel Gerard, Lahela Akima; siblings, Priscilla Keahi, William (Jackie) Keahi Jr., Edith (Bobby) Kapoi, Cecilia (Diamond) Raymond, Geri Keahi, Myron (Mary) Keahi Sr., Joyce (Randy) Wong, Mary Keahi, Freddy (Edna) Keahi, William Keahi III; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului. Service will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Anthony Silva

March 24, 1940 – November 11, 2019

Anthony Silva, 79, of Pukalani passed away on Nov. 11, 2019 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on March 24, 1940 in Wailuku.

Anthony is predeceased by his wife, Leila Silva; son, Arnold Silva; brother, Paul Dacanay and sister, Theresa Mae Texeira. He is survived by his daughters, Roxanne Silva and Lorraine (Kalei) Silva; siblings, Mary Lou Gorospe, Carol Lopez, James Silva, Kenneth Dacanay, Vincent Dacanay; grandchildren, Sanoe, Akoni, Jordyn-Lee, Mandi-Lei; great grand children, Lokana-Marie, Zaiyana-Marie, Chevis-Zane, Kale.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului. Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at 1 p.m. at Makawao Cemetery.

September 17, 1955 – November 13, 2019

Josevata Tabuya, 64, of Maui passed away peacefully on Nov. 13, 2019 under the care of Hospice Maui. He was born on Sept. 17, 1955 in Fiji.

Josevata is survived by his wife, Wilma Mahealani Tabuya, uncle, Mosese Tabuya; son, Joe (Rachel) Tabuya Jr., daughters, Harmony (Laddie) Roy and Amele (Eli) Joaquin; brothers, Wilisoni Tabuya, Reymond Tabuya, Ifereimi Tabuya; sisters, Kalo Howard, Amele Tabuya, Ane Mataitini and his brother and sister in laws as well as nine grandchildren, Kamaka, Ikeli, Koula, Kairos, Malie, Waiwai, Kau’i, Makena and Ikua as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and families worldwide touched by his ministry.

Josevata Duikoro Tabuya made Hawaii his home in 1973 from Fiji. He is best known as “Pastor Joe.” Pastor Joe most loved, golfing and being a papa to his 9 grandkids. He was proud to be a Polynesian and shared his culture through song and dance.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 at King’s Cathedral in Kahului. Service will begin at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Valley Isle Memorial Park.
