Items Stolen in Lahaina Halloween Armed Robbery Valued at More Than $1 Million

Maui police released further details in a Halloween Day robbery on Front Street in Lahaina, saying the suspect escaped with jewelry valued at more than $1 million.

According to police reports, a masked man dressed in a full length black gown, wearing black gloves, a black mask and black Nike shoes “with a white swoosh” and white soles entered Greenleaf Diamonds located at 730 Front Street and Robbed the location at gun point.

The incident was reported at approximately 12:16 p.m. on Oct. 31, 2019.

Police say the business was vacant of customers when the suspect entered and brandished a black “Glock” like, semi-automatic-looking pistol. The suspect then demanded three items from the display case which contained multiple pieces of other jewelry.

Items that were stolen included the following:

  • A 10.10 Pink Diamond Main Loose GIA valued at $240,000;
  • a 14K-W/G 20.20 CT Diamond stud earrings valued at $378,000; and
  • a Platinum 5.06 CT Fancy Light Pink Diamond GIA valued at $450,000.
  • Police say the total value of the three items stolen was $1,068,000.

Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the robbery.  Police say the company will also pay 10% of the cost of any merchandise recovered through the use of information.
