Farmers Union to Host Free Thanksgiving Imu for Members

Members of the Hawaiʻi Farmers Union United Mauna Kahalawai Chapter are invited to participate in a Thanksgiving imu roast.

Members are encouraged to bring a prepared turkey or other food dishes (limited to two dishes per family) in a pan to place in the imu.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about and assist in the process.

Long pants, shoes and gloves are recommended.

Those interested in attending should arrive at Hoʻomana Farms in Waikapū (accessible through Honoapiʻilani Highway) at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Dinner will be served that night and attendees are asked to bring a potluck dish to share.

The imu will be uncovered on Thursday at 7 a.m. Breakfast will be provided.
