Competition OFF Today at lululemon Maui Pro

Lakey Peterson (USA) is eliminated from the 2018 Beachwaver Maui Pro with an equal 13th finish after placing second in Heat 3 of Round 2 at Honolua Bay, Maui, Hawaii, USA. The lululemon Maui Pro, the final stop on the World Surf League Women’s Championship Tour, will be OFF again today (Wednesday, Nov. 27) due to lack of swell conditions at Honolua Bay.

“We had a little bump on the buoys this morning, but it is the wrong direction for Honolua,” said Jessi Miley-Dyer, WSL VP of Tours and Competition. “It is very heavily shadowed so it is not getting in here… What we are still looking at is Saturday, Sunday, Monday, which all look really promising. We are supposed to get a more northerly swell, so none of that shadowing that we have here, and it is probably going to be around six-foot. We will give an updated call time later today for the coming days.”

Carissa Moore (HAW), Lakey Peterson (USA), and Caroline Marks (USA) are the only three women in contention for the 2019 World Title.

• Possible World Title scenarios:
  If Carissa Moore wins Maui, she clinches the World Title;
• If Moore gets a 2nd, Lakey Peterson needs a 1st to take the World Title from Moore;
• If Moore gets a 3rd, Peterson needs a 2nd and Caroline marks a 1st;
• If Moore gets a 5th/9th/17th, Peterson needs 3rd and marks a 2nd to force a 3-way Tie Surf Off for a World Title decision on Maui.
