With the help of countless, kind hearted community members, the Maui Humane Society raised $13,478 in one day to fund care and rehoming services for animals in need.
One of those animals is Sweet Boy Butch, an injured dog who was saved by a good samaritan last week.
The humane society later tracked down Butchʻs guardian, who surrendered him over to MHS because he “didn’t want him anymore.’

MHS personnel say Butchʻs leg injury will likely require surgery and a long recovery.
Fortunately, the Hope Fund allows MHS to cover medical expenses for animals like Butch, giving sick and injured shelter animals a much deserved second chance at a good life.
