AARP Hawai’i and the Maui Arts & Cultural Center will be hosting a free screening of “Judy” next week.

Nominated for two Movies for Grownups awards, including Best Actress and Best Time Capsule Movie, Judy follows showbiz legend Judy Garland to swinging London in 1968 for a five-week sold-out run at the Talk of the Town.

Featuring some of Garland’s best-known songs, the film celebrates the voice, the capacity for love, and the sheer pizzazz of “the world’s greatest entertainer.”

The event will be held on Jan. 15 in the McCoy Studio Theater at 6 p.m. This is free and open to the public, but registration is required and seating is first-come, first-served. Register by calling 844-418-2281.

Organizers do not expect to have more guests than seats, but say it is a possibility. Should the event be full, AARP is not required to provide you a ticket to a future show. Organizers recommend arriving early.
