Shops at Wailea to Host Two Art Events in January

Two upcoming artist events take place at The Shops at Wailea this month: Made Worthy Maui on Jan. 18 at the lululemon store; and the 18th annual Art of Aloha on Jan. 26 at Lahaina Galleries.

Made Worthy Maui Pop Up at lululemon at The Shops at Wailea, Jan. 18

Also this Month, The Shops at Wailea host Made Worthy Maui.  The arts and crafts collective of three Maui “makers,” will host a pop up at The Shops at Wailea’s lululemon store on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Available artwork will include macramé designs by Jamie Olsen (@JamieKiheiMacrames), Hawaiʻi-inspired watercolors by Karley Kiker (@KarleyCreates), and beachwear from Emily Rand (@madebyrand). The event will feature original art, fine art prints, note cards, macrame, and handmade/made in Maui items including kimonos/beach coverups, clothing, pillow cases and more.

Jan. 26: 18th annual “Art of Aloha”

Maui’s 18th annual “Art of Aloha” will be celebrated at Lahaina Galleries (located in The Shops at Wailea) on Sunday, Jan. 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments and light pupus will be served.  Guests can mix and mingle with eight fine artists including:

• Alex Bernstein (North Carolina) – Sculpted glasswork inspired by the Dolomites, the jagged and awe-inspiring mountain range in northeastern Italy
• Dario Campanile (Originally from Rome/Italy) – A creative force of extraordinary vision, work ranges from the abstract, to surreal, to photorealistic
• Robert Lyn Nelson (Maui) – Visionary artist and abstract painter, creator of the Modern Marine Art genre
• Andrea Razzauti (Maui) Tuscan & Hawaiian virtuoso of lush and meticulous landscapes that explode with color
• Michael Talbot (England) British sculptor known for his intricate and dramatic bronzes celebrating the human form
• Steve Turnbull (Maui/Washington) – Free-flowing wood, stone and bronze sculptures
• Lori Wylie (Southern California) – Contemporary and dynamic semi-abstract etched paintings on metal, inspired by nature’s beauty
• Caroline Zimmermann (Southern California) – Modern and unique interpretations of coastal impressionism and the Tuscan landscape
