Lahaina Woman Arrested in Alleged Assault, Male Victim Critically Injured

Lahaina assault.

Maui police arrested a 46-year-old Lahaina woman on suspicion of first degree assault and disorderly conduct for an incident on Sunday night that left a male victim with critical, life-threatening injuries.

The arrest stems from suspicious activity call reported at around 7:23 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020 at 885 Waineeʻe Street in West Maui.

Upon police arrival, a male victim was found lying on the ground with injuries.  A suspect was observed walking in and out of traffic within the middle of the roadway, police said.  According to police reports, the female suspect was reportedly observed screaming at passing cars and refused to get out of the roadway prior to police arrival.

Police say the suspect was accused of physically assaulting the male victim.

The male victim was later transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center for treatment of life threatening injuries and remained in critical condition at last report.

The suspect remains in custody and charges are pending an ongoing police investigation.
