California-based womenʻs fashion lifestyle brand Johnny Was is opening at The Shops at Wailea.

Located in The Shops’ upper level luxury fashion wing, Johnny Was will debut a 2,000 square foot space featuring their worldly collection of silk, linen, and cotton fashions, as well as a full swimwear collection embracing a carefree, wanderlust spirit.

The store’s design will stay true to Johnny Was’ style, artistry, and authenticity while incorporating pieces of Maui. Artist Sage Vaughn will create his well-known, collage-like floor-to-ceiling floral paintings featuring tropical Hawaiian florals commonly used throughout the islands in leis and garlands. A mix of modern and vintage furnishings compliment the artwork, with Italian tile floors, marble tables, oak fixtures, and bronze hardware.

In addition to Johnny Was’ signature women’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections, the space is also home to Johnny Was’ recently added collection of Italian leather handcrafted bags and homeware. Talia, Johnny Was’ fragrance, will be available in eau de parfum, oil and candle.

Johnny Was will mark the grand opening on Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. Throughout the day, customers can enjoy celebratory refreshments and a special grand opening sale offering 20 percent off all purchases.
