Lānaʻi High and Elementary School will release students at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 19,2 020), and will offer supervised care until 1:15 p.m. for  families who need it.

The early closure is due to campus plumbing issues.

Education officials say repairs were completed over the weekend, but the school has not been able to use any supplies in its cafeteria.

Arrangements are being made to secure a vendor for industrial sanitation services to obtain the required clearance from the Department of Health to resume regular services.

Until the next supply barge arrives and is unloaded this afternoon, the school and community partners only have enough supplies to provide breakfast and a limited lunch service for students.

Parents of students at Lānaʻi High and Elementary are encouraged to feed their children at home and provide home lunch if possible for today.
