Utility work continues this weekend on Main Street near the Church Street intersection in Wailuku as part of the Wailuku Town Improvement project.

Work by MIRA Image Construction continues this Sunday, March 1 and includes utility replacement, upgrades, paving and electrical work.

Work will occur after peak traffic hours and on weekends. Motorists can expect various lane closures and detours during the project’s duration. Roadwork is expected to continue through June 2020.

When lane closures occur on Main Street, at least one lane will remain open in each direction. Contraflow may be done in some situations. When full road closures are in effect, detour signs will be posted for motorists. Motorists should consider alternate routes and drive with caution within construction areas.

Special duty officers will be on site to help ensure public safety by assisting with lane closures and traffic control. Pedestrians and motorists are advised to proceed with caution.
