Maui Reverse Prostitution Sting Nets 10 Arrests

Maui police arrested a total of 10 adult males during a reverse prostitution sting conducted over a two day period between Tuesday, Feb. 11 and Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020.

The sting was conducted by the department’s Vice Gambling and Morals Unit, with the assistance of Lahaina Patrol officers.

Police say officers targeted “Johns” by setting up what’s known as a Reverse Prostitution operation where a female Police officer poses as a prostitute to target suspected “Johns.”

In addition to the arrests, police also recovered $38,110.

Police released the following names of those that were arrested:

  • Adam Schroder, 42 of Kahului, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks. He was released after posting $200 on Feb. 12, 2020.
  • John Darrow, 65 of Māʻalaea, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks.  He was released on Feb. 12, 2020 on his own recognizance.
  • Justin Edwards Winter, 28 of Makawao, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks.  He was released on Feb. 12, 2020 pending investigation.
  • Enele Kaleikaumaka Scanlan, 21 of Kahului, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks.  He was released after posting $200 bail on Feb. 12, 2020. He was also arrested on suspicion of third degree promotion of a dangerous drug.  For that, he was released pending investigation.
  • Tyrone Duncan, 54 or Makawao, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks.  He was released after posting $200 bail on Feb. 12, 2020.
  • Gilbert Natividad, 44 of Kīhei, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks.  He was released after posting $200 bail on Feb. 12, 2020.
  • Joshua Pidot, 26 of Kīhei, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks.  He was released after posting $200 bail on Feb. 13, 2020.
  • Kurt Tanaka, 53 of Makawao, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks.  He was released after posting $200 bail on Feb. 13, 2020.
  • A 37 year old Kīhei man, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks. He was released after posting $200 bail on Feb. 11, 2020.
  • Omar Agor, 31 of Wailuku, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks.  His bail was set at $200 for that alleged offense.  Agor was released pending investigation on Feb. 15, 2020 for suspicion of place to keep a pistol or revolver, no permit to carry a weapon, place to keep ammunition, solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks, third degree promotion of a dangerous drug and prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia.
