Visitor dies after being found unresponsive in Kāʻanapali, Maui

A 52-year-old man from California died after apparently being pulled from waters unresponsive in Kāʻanapali, Maui Wednesday.

Firefighters from Ladder 3 in Lahaina were called to the scene at 1:56 p.m. for a report of a possible drowning incident at the beach area fronting 2605 Kāʻanapali Parkway.

Crews arrived on scene with Medics to find CPR was being performed by bystanders.

Fire personnel and Medics took over life saving efforts. Despite all efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The concluding time of response was 2:49 p.m., according to department reports.
