A 37-year-old Kahului man suffered life-threatening injuries when he collided into a wild pig in the roadway and was ejected while operating a motor scooter on the Maui Veterans "Mokulele" Highway (311) on Saturday night.

Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle Last Month in Kīhei has Succumbed to Injuries

A 72-year-old man who sustained injuries after being struck by a vehicle while walking on the Maui Veterans (Mokulele) Highway last month, has since succumbed to his injuries while hospitalized on Oʻahu. Maui police have identified the man as Billy Joe Theus of Kīhei.

Update: 6:23 a.m. 5.19.20: The Honoapiʻilani (Hwy 30) is now OPEN in both directions. It was closed earlier this morning near Mile 11 at Papalaua Wayside Park due to a motor vehicle accident. Motorists are advised of significant delays and are asked to drive with caution.
