Homestead Hawaiians Request Legislation on Hawaiian Homes Commission Act

The Sovereign Council of Hawaiian Homestead Associations (SCHHA) is partnering with the Association of Hawaiians for Homestead Lands (AHHL-Waitlist), both beneficiary organizations registered with the United States Department of Interior. These statewide homestead associations will work with the Hawaiʻi State Legislature in an effort to enact two administrative amendments to the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act of 1920.

Homestead nonprofit partners with DHHL to serve waitlisted Hawaiians

Under a memorandum of agreement executed this month, Hawaiian Lending & Investments will administer Department of Hawaiian Home Lands matching down payment assistance grants of up to $5,000 to eligible DHHL beneficiaries toward the cost to build or purchase a home on Hawaiian Home Lands.

The Association of Hawaiians for Homestead Lands hosts a virtual national briefing about the Beneficiary $600 Million Spending Plan for Act 279 on Wednesday night, Dec. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Hawaiians Waiting for Homestead Award Add One Off-Island Board Seat

At its last regular board meeting, the Association of Hawaiians for Homestead Lands added one board seat to represent the interests of Hawaiians on the waitlist for a land award but living on the US continent.
