Pre-fire Front Street Improvements Project continues; work completion slated for May
Work on the County of Maui’s pre-fire Front Street Improvements Project will continue with updates to features of the historical roadway between the intersections of Baker to Pāpalaua streets and Lahainaluna Road to Dickenson Street. The stretch of Front Street from Lahainaluna Road to Papelekane Street remains closed.
Lahaina Town street design is focus of workshops, open houses, June 24-26
The County of Maui Office of Recovery invites the community to provide input on the way streets in the commercial core of Lahaina town, including Front Street, are rebuilt during a series of design workshops and open houses slated for June 24-26, 2025.
Temporary road closure: Front Street between Baker and Kenui
Front Street in West Maui is shut down in both directions between Baker Street and Kenui Street. Maui police say Hawaiian Electric Company is on scene where tree trimming is currently underway.
Lahaina Front Street Improvement Project Community Meeting, Feb. 13
County officials say wave action and saltwater spray have deteriorated street elements on the makai side of Front Street in two locations: between Dickenson Street and Lahainaluna Road and between Papalaua and Baker streets.
