The HDS Foundation, the state’s only philanthropic organization solely dedicated to improving access to oral health care, promoting oral health education, and reducing oral health diseases, recently awarded a total of $21,000 in scholarships to seven dental hygiene students from Maui. 

The HDS Tooth Fairy Fun Day, a popular annual event on Oʻahu that makes oral health education fun for keiki, is coming to Maui this summer. The HDS Tooth Fairy Fun Day will be at the Maui Ocean Center, 192 Māʻalaea Road in Wailuku on Sunday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free for kamaʻāina.

The Hawaiʻi Dental Service Foundation has awarded scholarships totaling $110,000 to 18 aspiring dental professionals, eight who want to be dentists and 10 who want to become dental hygienists.
