Bayer Hawaii employees organized food drives on three islands as part of a national campaign to help end hunger, collecting more than 1,000 pounds of food and over $500 in donations to support local communities in the fight against food insecurity.

This September, Maui Food Bank joins Feeding America’s Hunger Action Month to raise awareness about hunger and inspire people to take action. Since the Maui wildfires, the demand for food has increased by over 65%, according to organization leaders. 

Originally established by Congress at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the waivers are currently scheduled to expire on June 30, 2022, potentially forcing thousands of children and families back into food insecurity.

Nuestro Futuro Foundation donated $80,000 to Maui United Way for The Kaukau 4 Keiki Summer Meals to You Program which will go towards the purchasing of food, distribution and administration efforts to run the program on Maui and Lānaʻi.
