Maui Humane Society issues urgent plea to address extreme overcrowding of kennels
There are currently more than 130 dogs in the shelter’s care, but only 40 kennels. The organization reports that for the first time in years, the shelter has a list of at-risk animals for euthanasia.
Animal fostering sought for shelter pets during the Holidays
Fostering for the Holidays at Maui Humane Society started Dec. 15 and runs through Jan. 2, 2023. It allows any member of the public to take an animal home for the holidays for free, with all supplies provided. They can call or walk through the front doors of the Maui Humane Society, and let staff know they are interested in the free, life-saving opportunity to Foster for the Holidays.
Maui Humane Society Hosts First Public Adoption Event in 18+ Months on Sept. 18
The Maui Humane Society hosts its first public adoption event in over a year and a half on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organization leaders say the event is organized to address the overwhelming number of pets (almost 500) that are currently at the shelter and in foster care.
