Deadline is Today for Public Comment on Hāna Pier Removal
Public comment on plans to remove the deteriorated Hāna Pier in East Maui are being accepted through today for an environmental impact statement preparation notice filed by the state Department of Transportation.

Hāna Pier Improvements Proposal to be Discussed
Proposed improvements to Hāna Pier in East Maui will be discussed during an informational meeting hosted by the state Department of Transportation, Harbors Division on Dec. 17, 2015.
Passed Water Infrastructure Bill Includes Kahului and Hāna
The measure includes improvements to the Kahului Wastewater Reclamation Facility that would extend and raise the elevation of the facility’s existing revetment to protect the shoreline and accommodate sea-rise. It also aims to assist small harbors including Hāna Harbor.
State to Discuss Hāna Pier Improvements
The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10th at Helene Hall in Hāna. The gathering begins with an open house at 5 p.m., a presentation at 5:30 p.m., and a question and answer session to follow.
