Hiker Injured on South Maui Lava Field
The hiker, identified as a 73-year-old woman visiting from Portland, Oregon, was rescued from a trail in the lava fields south of La Perouse Bay in Mākena.
4 Hikers Airlifted from Hoapili Trail in Mākena
Rescue crews on board the fire department’s Air-1 helicopter located the teenager, along with two females and a male on the Hoapili Trail, also known as, “The Kings Highway,” roughly two miles east of the parking area at La Perouse Bay.
