Public comments sought on federally funded transportation projects across Maui
The Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization is now accepting public comments on its Federal Fiscal Year 2022-2025 Transportation Improvement Program Revision No. 13 and Unified Planning Work Program amendments for fiscal year 2023 and 2024.
Hawaiʻi DOT urges motorists to share the road in observance of Motorcycle Safety Month
The Hawaiʻi State Department of Transportation reported that 13 individuals have died on state roadways while operating a motorcycle, motor scooter or moped since the beginning of 2023. At this time last year, there were eight fatalities of this nature recorded.

With the impacts of severe weather events and forecasted impacts of climate change on the roads and bridges that connect communities, the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation’s has made its Hawai’i Highways Climate Adaptation Action Plan, exposure assessments and hazard viewer available online for the public.
