‘Vigorous Cold Front’ expected to bring strong SW winds and thunderstorms
The National Weather Service is forecasting a “vigorous cold front” to bring strong southwest winds and thunderstorms to the islands late Sunday through Monday.
Two tropical storms form in Pacific, make slow trek to the west
Tropical Storm Frank is expected to become a hurricane in the next few hours, but “both storms are still well to the east and do not post any threat to Hawaiʻi in the next several days,” according to HI-EMA.
Remnants of Linda Continue on Trek Across Islands
The NWS says that based on the latest guidance, the low will continue to track westward across Maui County and the center may pass just south of Oʻahu this afternoon, and then move south of Kauaʻi this evening.

All Clear Issued for Maui: Storm Warning Cancelled
Maui County Civil Defense and Mayor Alan Arakawa have announced the all clear for residents as the tropical storm warning for the county was canceled this afternoon. Tropical Storm Iselle dispersed after hitting the Big Island last night and stopping the storms progression to Maui; however the Mayor still urged caution in the coming days.

The National Weather Service says radar at 1:23 a.m. showed moderate to heavy rain along the windward slopes of Haleakalā. Additional rain bands will continue to move over east Maui over the next several hours.
