$5M NSF award to address outdated wastewater infrastructure
University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa researchers are part of a team that was recently awarded a three-year, $5 million grant from the National Science Foundation to address the environmental and public health impacts of outdated wastewater infrastructure in island communities.
Sewer user fee increases in effect with start of new fiscal year
The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management’s Wastewater Reclamation Division is reminding customers that sewer user fees have increased by an overall average of 9% for Fiscal Year 2026, which started on July 1, 2025.
Amended sewer service status announced for 15 West Maui lots
The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management’s Wastewater Reclamation Division announced that it has amended the Sewer Service Status from “red” to “green,” meaning sewer service is now active for 15 properties including: one lot on Kaili Place, six lots near Kopili and Kuhua streets, and eight lots near Mall Place and Ainakea Road.
