Children with Disabilities Conference Open to Maui Parents

A limited number of travel scholarships are available for Maui parents of children with disabilities to attend the 25th Annual Conference of  the Special Parent Information Network (SPIN).  

The conference will be held on Saturday, April 16th at the University of Hawaii Campus Center in Oahu.

Since 1986 SPIN has been organizing conference to give parents of children with disabilities the opportunity to gain new and valuable information and network with other parents and professionals.

The conference showcases 16 workshops on topics including bullying, positive behavioral supports, the Individualized Educational Program (IEP), transition, autism and technology and more.  There will also be services providers and displays highlighting agencies and programs that offer support to children and youth with disabilities and their families.

The registration fee is $20 per parent, $30 for two family members registering together or $30 for a professional.   Travel scholarships  for Maui families and families of other neighbor islands are made available to improve access to this important conference.
