Carissa Moore of Hawaiʻi took home the women’s title in the Surf Ranch Pro Presented by 805 Beer in Lemoore, Calif. In the men’s division the title went to Griffin Colapinto (USA).

2023 Maui Marathon to utilize collapsible, reusable cups
In a new effort to reduce waste, the Maui Marathon will be using the HydraPak SpeedCupTM instead of paper/wax cups at all of the aid stations. Organizers say, “together, participants and organizers can work to prevent single-use cups from filling our landfills or littering the roads and trails.”

Founder of Peʻahi Big Wave contest retires, looks back at Maui surfing pioneers
Rodney Lash Nui Kilborn was a firefighter on Maui and had sponsored a number of amateur surfing events as a volunteer organizer on the Valley Isle, when he led a number of other watermen to help to start the first annual Peʻahi surfing contest in the mid-1990s. Four Seasons Resort Maui hosts Molokini Kaʻapuni 2023

Nearly 1,000 participants ran and walked in last weekend’s 12th annual Maui 5K, raising more than $57,000 for Maui Nui schools. The participation from Maui residents and visitors alike marked a record number for the event.
