Maui High School has coaching opportunities open for positions in Girls Water Polo and Softball. To apply, email a resume to Athletic Director Michael Ban at michael.ban@k12.hi.us. The deadline to apply is Friday, June 14.

HMSA awards $75,000 in scholarships to 15 high school seniors; $13,500 to outstanding high schools

Maui recipients are Madison Strand of King Kekaulike High School and Jasmyn Yoshikawa of Baldwin High School. Winning schools on Maui are Maui Preparatory Academy for small school, and Kamehameha Schools Maui in the large school division.

Free learn to swim lessons for youth start July 1

Maui Swim Club and Maui County’s Department of Parks and Recreation, Aquatics Division have teamed up to create an annual tuition-free learn to swim program for keiki.

The Sentry raises record $735,694 for the Maui community in 2024

The Sentry, alongside representatives from Sentry Insurance, announced today that more than a dozen Maui nonprofit organizations benefited from the 2024 event, which generated $735,694 in charitable funds. This marks the largest charitable donation to local organizations since the event moved to Maui in 1999.

Maui Native Tommy Musto signs Major League Soccer contract with LAFC

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) on Wednesday announced the signing of Maui native Tommy Musto to a Major League Soccer contract. With the signing, Tommy becomes the first-ever Hawaiʻi-born player to sign with LAFC, and the 13th in league history.

Maui Bicycling League successfully hosts Memorial Ride of Silence

The Maui Bicycling League held its annual Ride of Silence on Saturday, joining over 400 locations worldwide in honoring cyclists who have been injured or lost their lives while riding. The event drew more than 30 bike riders and advocates who came together to ride in silence, dressed in white, to commemorate those who have tragically died while cycling.

MTS-Nakamura Wrestling of Wailuku took first overall at this past weekend’s 2024 Hawaiʻi State Wrestling Championship, held annually at the Lahaina Civic Center. The event drew 19 wrestling clubs statewide and nearly 500 wrestlers.
