Looking to add some new recipes to your repertoire and perhaps pass some old ones to someone else? Slow Food Maui, which supports locally grown food and healthy culinary practices in Maui, is having a cookbook swap/sale this Saturday, April 16th, at Whole Foods Market in Kahului.
Show up between 9am and2pm with your gently used cookbooks in tow for swap or sale. All cuisines and cooking styles are welcome so stop by and expand your cooking techniques in an environmentally friendly way.
Slow Food Maui aligns with Slow Food USA, a grassroots movement that advocates good, clean, fair food throughout the country via educational programs and events. The movement seeks to create dramatic and lasting changes in the food system by reconnecting Americans with the people, traditions, plants, animals, fertile soils and waters that produce our food.
The Maui chapter has hosted numerous programs promoting sustainability on the island such as the Taste Education Series, which hosts workshops on coffee, mixology and chocolate.
Maui Now covers the latest food news and events throughout the island and appreciates suggestions. Please send tips or feedback to email@example.com.
